Seeds of Change Consulting provides a network of experts to grow your organization through collective action and collaboration. Overview of Anti-Racist Trainings (ART)

To support the Equity and Anti-Racist work of an organization, SoC can facilitate anti-racist trainings for staff, board, committee members, and collaborators engaged with the various levels of Social Change Work. Our trainings are rooted in a rich history of equity work, coming from the lineage of training developed by Rev. C.T. Vivian and Ann Braden in collaboration with communities furthest from justice during the Civil Rights Era. This lineage is a testament to our commitment to examining the root causes of inequities and understanding racism in its institutional, structural, and personal forms.

Seeds of Change Consulting has capacity for new coaching clients this summer. If you are looking for a racial justice coach, we invite you to complete this short interest form. Coaching is available as a 4-session package during July, August, or September, with sliding-scale options available. This coaching space is for leaders, organizers, educators, faith communities, nonprofit staff, teams, and institutions who are seeking support around racial justice, liberatory leadership, accountability, repair, power dynamics, organizational change, or moving equity from language into practice. Once you complete this form, Seeds of Change Consulting will follow up about fit, availability, scheduling, and payment options.

Welcome! We’re grateful you’re interested in joining The Courage to Believe: A Theology Lab for Curiosity, Critical Love, and Compassionate Understanding.
This 8-week course invites participants to grapple honestly with Christian theology, explore what they believe and why, understand how others arrive at different beliefs, and practice curiosity before judgment. Together, we will think deeply, bridge across difference, and carefully critique theological ideas while honoring the dignity of people.

Our highly-skilled team offers one-day, multi-day and extended commitment programming options. Curriculum topics include: implicit bias awareness, the role of being a white accomplice in this work, and racial equity education. We offer client consultations to accommodate special programming requests.

Projects and community initiatives can be daunting tasks without accurate data to support the assessment of the financial and human resources needed to see them through. Using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, our team can assist with gathering concrete feedback to make informed decisions for mapping out project management strategies.

Meeting Facilitation

Listen to Understand
It can be hard to keep meetings on track, particularly when implicit or explicit conflict is present. Using the Circle Meeting approach, we offer techniques that foster an environment for impartial meetings, focus on accomplishing goals, and lead to tangible outcomes. We assist with holding space for productive and impartial meetings, spanning from small-group interventions to large-group discussions. The prioritized focus rests on accomplishing goals and tasks within an agreed upon time frame to ensure desired outcomes and results. Racial Equity is always centered within our practices and techniques.

It has become a social norm for organizations to make public declarations of valuing racial equity. In order to truly live into those values, an organization must have the knowledge of where they are before taking steps forward. Our approach to this work is undergirded in participatory action research, intentional conversations, and community input.

Areas of focus: racial equity, liberation, problem solving, solutions for systemic issues and healthy anecdotes for burnout. Data indicates that organizations investing in staff development have less staff turnover, have healthier workplace cultures, and increase intra-group buy in for achieving positive outcomes.

Build Equitable Workplace Culture
We partner with organizations to identify and take meaningful action steps towards racial equity, built on the foundation of prior equity work, shared analysis, and shared values. Our process develops intersectional equity plans, building skills to promote equitable norms and authentic relationships. We provide our clients with tangible work plans to walk out the immediate and yearly action steps of their strategic plan.
