Renee Harvey

Renee Harvey, M.A., CHES® is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Harvey Insight Consulting, where she works with organizations to strengthen programs, systems, and partnerships that improve community health. With over 20 years of experience in public health, Renee brings a well-rounded perspective shaped by work across clinical, public health, and community-based settings. She began her career in hospital and health department laboratories after earning an Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology. This early experience grounded her in the clinical side of health, including disease monitoring and patient care. Over time, she expanded her work into community health, where she now focuses on helping organizations connect systems, data, and real-world community needs to improve outcomes. Her work spans healthy living and active living initiatives, food systems, and efforts that address the social drivers of health. She partners with organizations to design and implement strategies that are practical, community-informed, and built to last. Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Renee continues to call the region home and is deeply committed to rural communities. She believes that community voice is the key to meaningful and lasting change and her work reflects that belief through a consistent focus on trust, relationships, and authentic engagement. Renee holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health and a Master of Arts in Health Education and Promotion. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
