Jenn Grimmett
Jenn is a southern girl, raised in Appalachia, who spent nearly two decades living in the Boston Metro area. Upon returning back to North Carolina in 2013, Jenn continued her journey working in academia where she became deeply invested in working alongside young adults who grappled with a keen curiosity for challenging oppressive systems. Jenn holds a MA in Peace & Conflict Studies, with research focusing on the correlation between lived experiences and identity formation. Her background includes years of program design for teams and groups looking to advance skills and knowledge in areas of diversity, inclusion, leadership, and cultural humility. Jenn believes that learning is a constant process of taking in new information, reflection, and sharing that learning with others. As a white woman, Jenn recognizes that the practice of challenging systems and philosophies perpetuating white supremacy culture is simply not enough; white folks have a moral obligation to risk unearned privileges by being unapologetically anti-racist. Outside of the work, Jenn finds solace in nature, playing chess, and the endless offering of unfinished DIY projects around her house.
