LaShauna Austria is the founder of Seeds for Change Consulting, she is a community organizer, aspiring farmer and ordained faith leader in the United Church of Christ. LaShauna brings a fierce commitment to and deep experience in building strong, vibrant, and sustainable communities. Seeds of Change Consulting through LaShauna possess a demonstrated record of collaborating with rural communities, faith-based and secular organizations to address race, food justice, environmental justice and equity issues.
Seeing the need in North Carolina in 2016 LaShauna was one of the co-founders of the Saxapahaw Social Justice Exchange. This community group addresses police brutality, and more specifically, the killings of unarmed black people. Through LaShauna’s community organizing work, she became a founding member of Alamance Racial Equity Alliance (AREA) and currently sit on the board.
